Drawing from online depictions of infrastructural developments and maritime folklore in equal measure, Alexandros Xenophontos explores myth-making as a world-building tactic. In the duration of the residency, the artist centered around the real and speculative sabotage of subsea cables, intertwining a marine mollusk (Teredo Navalis) with a Cypriot cryptid (Auli). The work considers the entanglement of critical infrastructures with ecologies, materialities, and rage as a resource.
